In the Pink!

I am loving pink and fuschia in small doses right now! A little goes a long long way. Check out the Turkish Kilim pillow subtly tucked into the couch below which I stumbled upon here at Houzz.com.. They bring a punch of color and their texture can warm up a modern room.

eBay has an excellent selection of colors and patterns but I'm feeling the pinks and fuschias right now:

Also feeling these over dyed rugs!

Home Goods Finds - Ghost Chair and more!

I kind of adore this little sectional in dark grey, though it's stiff and the covers are not all removable, which is imperative when you have two boys under 10!
I would pair it with this pretty Belgian rug:
...and a ghost chair! (These are practical and stylish with kids and you never have to re cover them)....
For some whimsy, I'd toss in an indigo shaded squid:

And some yellow pillows because I love yellow and grey:

What do you think?

Boys Room - Home Goods and Restoration Hardware (Final Sale!)

I am hoping to redo the boys' room soon (fingers crossed), but for now I'm just daydreaming.

I adore the Nicole Miller settees at Home Goods, though after sitting on them, I'm not sure how comfortable they are as they are very stiff, but they sure do look purdy. The phrenology head, Geode book end, throw rug and cowhide stool are all Home Goods finds.

The Elephant Pillow is an etsy find and brings a little quirk and vibrant color to the set up! The side table and the spherical pendant lamp are both on sale right now at Restoration Hardware!

Hmmmm. What do you think?

Before and After - Pottery Barn Porch Table Chairs

Hello!

So, summer has me in its clutches and once more I found myself dreaming away an hour at Home Goods today!

I was in the rug section and saw the cute little woven rag rugs for 10$ a pop. They're small and not quite right for any of my floors, and I kept thinking... what to do? What to do? Then I remembered Jenny Komenda's Bench makeover at Little Green Notebook I've had these Pottery Barn chairs for almost 8 years now, recovering them when the mood strikes because they are so easy to do.

This was a test run:

I flipped it over, unscrewed the seat, took off the polka dot fabric I had wrapped the cushion in and replaced it with the rug:

I stapled away with my industrial strength stapler!

I was afraid this was NOT the best idea because when it came time to "trim" the "fabric", well, the fabric is a rag rug and it just comes apart...  Also, the seat cushion did not completely fit squarely back in its frame, but voila :

I like this look way better for now! What do you think? Do the rest?

Home Goods Visit - Swanky Bar Cart!

I love my Home Goods!

I love walking down the aisles and daydreaming. I love being there right as the new pillows are put out on the shelves... I love thinking about which items I would pull together to make a little vignette! Sometimes, I stray. For instance, the lamp section? Kills me every time.

Today, I found this pair from Regina-Andrew Design:

This swoony mirror framed photo of his dapperness 007:

... begs to be hung over a glamorous little bar cart :

OR, perhaps more appropriately, this:

Ah, sigh!

The Hat's The Thing...

Yesterday I met up with an old friend. We happen to both be staying with our families at "The Shore" and wrangled some time to get out broods together on the beach. I've admired her classic style since we were teenagers making due with black jeans and oversized men's shirts! Anyway, she had on an adorable panama which I swear I was thinking about the day before...

Gurl pulled some inspiring pics of how to wear a summer hat - from panama to fedora - but my take away was that their classic structured forms elevate the every day summer wardrobe.
